After 25 successful years in the military it was time for a change.  An opportunity arose with Norwich Union (Life and Pensions) as a technical project manager.  Managing some really complex and time challenged projects such as our rebrand to Aviva (from Norwich Union and Commerical Union) I not only managed to learn but bring some of my military rigour and control into a way of working within Aviva.  Moving roles to senior test manager (multi-national), delivery manager (3rd party s/w and sourcing partners like product writer and Polaris), and most recently the programme manager for automation.  Working closely with the business partners on providing strategic automation across many business lines.  Typically within large companies such as Aviva this has meant taking end-to-end ownership across many projects with automation slants and delivering quick solutions to the market (tactical and strategic) with minimal cost and maximum benefit. Currently this is seeing me take on a leadership role bringing together the multiple business areas with a divergent / complex technology landscape within a single automation team.
